Karen is a Financial Advisor working within the team at Sawyer and Associates Financial Services. In 2010, she graduated from Laurentian University with an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree. Throughout her university career, she focused her studies in the areas of financial management including an in depth knowledge of accounting, taxation and finance. In addition to her strong educational background, Karen also began her career with job opportunities at 2 local accounting firms, gaining additional knowledge and experience in the areas of accounting and taxation. Karen is always looking for ways to build upon her education and improve her offerings to clients. In 2015, Karen successfully completed all her requirements and is now a Certified Financial Planner® professional. For the past few years, Karen has been working alongside Phil gaining knowledge and experience and has proven to be an asset at Sawyer and Associates Financial Services. Karen does extensive work on building comprehensive retirement plans for clients, helping individuals save for life goals, such as buying their first home or other major purchases through investments such as RRSP, TFSA or non-registered. Having a young family herself, she understands the significance of ensuring her family is adequately covered in the event of an unexpected death or illness. She also knows the importance of starting to save for retirement early, as well as, contributing to a RESP for her daughter. As she recently went through this process herself, Karen is in the position to provide great insight to young families just starting off. With many successful years still ahead of her, Karen will continue to work with current clients and welcomes the opportunity to work with new clients. Karen works with clients of all ages helping them to see where they fit in terms of their retirement goals, during their retirement years, and in their later years to help plan and simplify their estates.
